We may feel the pain of rejection, but we can also know that we are loved and called by name to a destiny set out before us. The gut-punch of rejection can't and should not take that knowledge from us. Because he was human, Jesus understands our pain and understands exactly what we’re going through when we feel rejected. He is with us in the pain, and although he may not deliver us from the hurt of rejection, he will give us the strength to go through it. And the most reassuring thing about Jesus is that he will never reject us.
